If you’re into technology, here’s an interesting article about the Fitbit, a small device that clips to your clothing and tracks your movement day and night. It calculates your activity level, tells you how many calories you’ve burned, and reportedly can tell you how well you’re sleeping.
The device is wireless and will automatically synchronize and download all the data it collects into a program on your computer. From there you can input additional data, track caloric intake, and create some spiffy charts detailing your diet, exercise, and sleep pattern:
To some this may seem like overkill. But if you’re having trouble losing weight this is the kind of information that can help you determine why. As soon as we start tracking something and “keeping score”, there’s a tendency to push ourselves a little harder. It’s usually that little bit of extra effort that makes the difference between success and failure.
